Katate tori - single wrist grab
片手取 (kata te tori)
片 = single
手 = hand
取 = grab
Kata tori - shoulder grab
肩取 (kata tori)
肩 = shoulder
取 = grab
Tsuki - punch
Mune tsuki - punch to the stomach or Chudan tsuki.
胸 = Mune (chest)
中段 (chudan)
中だん = middle part
突き(tsuki) = punch or thrust
Shionage - 4 directions throw
四方投げ(shi ho na ge)
四方= four direction
投げ = throw
Ikkyo - straight arm lock
一教 ikkyo = literally means first lesson / first teaching
Kotegaishi - that wrist lock where you fold the hand back towards the inner of the elbow
小手返し (kotegaeshi)
小手 = kote (literally means small hands)
返し = return
Ushiro - behind
後ろ (ushiro) means behind
Kubishime - neck choke
首絞め (くびしめ or kubishime) = strangling
Ushiro kubishime:
後ろ 首絞め (ushiro kubishime) means strangling from behind
Kokkyu nage - breath throw
呼吸 = kokyu means breath
投げ = nage means throw
